BRANCA RABELO

I graduated as an architect in 2003 from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. I began my career in architecture as a trainee in a studio, and I stayed with the same company for 15 years, the last 10 as a partner.
The focus in this studio was on revitalization projects. Giving new life to historical buildings, transforming them into new spaces, often with a radically different use from their original one.

It delights me to be able to transform a place which has previously been abandoned or left in bad condition, but is still full of history, and to see the remarkable impact it has on those who will occupy it and the boost it gives to the neighbourhood and the city.

Architecture still fascinates me, but I was looking for a new path, both personally and professionally. So, in 2016, I came to Barcelona for a three-month visit. Once the 3 months were up, I decided to put down roots and pursue my dream of living and working abroad. I had the desire to learn new languages, to live in an unknown place, to widen my point of view and to learn about other cultures. These brought me to live here in Barcelona.

For three years I studied product design at Escola Massana, a very prestigious school of Art and Design, located in the centre of Barcelona.

I am a creative problem solver, focused on creating innovative and sustainable projects that are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly. I believe in the importance of integrating architecture and product design to create a harmonious and effective solution. I strive to create projects that are not only beautiful, but also fulfil the needs of the user and respect the natural environment.

I am also passionate about sustainability and I strive to incorporate eco-friendly materials and practices in all my projects. I am currently working as a freelance designer and I am always looking for new opportunities and projects.

I currently live in Barcelona and I work combining my two passions, Architecture and Design and I am excited to continue my journey in this amazing city and look forward to collaborating with architects and designers to bring all my knowledge gained over the last two decades.
